1. Controller
The controller responsible for processing personal data on this website is:
Malte Meier
Genslerstraße 98

Email: [email protected]
2. Hosting and server logs
When this website is accessed, technically necessary connection data is processed, such as IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, browser/operating-system information and HTTP status code. This is necessary to provide and secure the website, diagnose errors and prevent abuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Logs are deleted when they are no longer needed for these purposes, unless statutory obligations require otherwise.
The website is delivered and protected through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process connection data as a technical service provider. Cloudflare operates a global network, so processing in third countries cannot be ruled out. Information about safeguards and contractual terms is available in Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.
3. Cloudflare Web Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand readership and technical performance. Its beacon from static.cloudflareinsights.com is loaded only if you select “Allow analytics” in the privacy notice. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this website’s local browser data; you can make a new choice on your next visit. The legal basis is consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics collects minimal performance data, does not track visitors across websites, and does not collect or use visitors’ personal data. See Cloudflare’s description of the service and data collection. Cloudflare states that unsampled data is retained for seven days and then aggregated; the provider’s current information applies.
4. Fonts
The Inter and JetBrains Mono typefaces are served from this website’s own server. No connection to Google or any other third party is made.
5. Local preferences
The website stores your light/dark appearance preference and, where applicable, your privacy-notice choice in your browser’s local storage. These values are not transmitted to us and can be removed by clearing this website’s browser data.
6. Contact by email or form
If you contact us by email or through the contact form, we process the information you provide. The form collects your name, email address, subject and message and sends it to [email protected] through Contact Form 7 on our WordPress website. To protect the contact form from automated messages, we use Cloudflare Turnstile. Cloudflare processes the technical data required for this security check, such as IP address, browser and device information, and creates a verification token; the content of your form message is not sent to Turnstile. The legal basis for preventing abuse is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Cloudflare provides further information in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum. Contact Form 7 does not store submissions as WordPress database entries by default. Our hosting provider processes the information as technically necessary to operate the website. The legal basis for handling your enquiry is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual matters, and otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Messages are deleted once the enquiry has been resolved, unless statutory retention obligations apply; emails may remain in the email systems used until then.
7. Newsletter
When you subscribe to the StackLog newsletter, we process your email address and selected language (German or English). Registration is protected by double opt-in: your address is added to the newsletter list only after you click the confirmation link. Until then, the request is stored technically in WordPress and deleted after 14 days if it is not confirmed. Confirmation data is retained for no more than three years to document consent. We use Brevo as a processor to manage and send the newsletter; your confirmed email address and language are transferred to Brevo. Brevo’s Privacy Policy also applies. The legal basis for the newsletter and processing the registration is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; documenting consent is based on our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time with future effect by using the unsubscribe link in every newsletter.
We also use Cloudflare Turnstile in the newsletter form to prevent automated sign-ups. Cloudflare processes the technical data required for the security check; the content of your registration is not transmitted to Turnstile. Further information is available in the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
8. Your rights and right to complain
Subject to legal requirements, you have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority. The authority for Berlin is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany, email [email protected].
